The ISBL is in its 13th Season in 2007. The 2005 Season was wildly successful, as the league embarked on its third year of "Eurostyle" two-tier play and postseason cup action.

The Senior and Junior Circuits

We've split the league in half, thrown in a promotion/relegation structure, and scaled payrolls to level the playing field and add even more excitement to an already competitive league.

That's right.. if you're lucky enough to make it to the Senior Circuit, you've gotta fight hard to stay there ... finish in the basement and it's off to the Junior Circuit! Meanwhile, the Junior Circuit teams will be duking it out for a chance to be promoted to the Senior Circuit, where more money and tougher competition awaits!

The 2006 Season also sees the second year of the ISBL Diamond Cup - a post-season knockout tournament (after the Senior and Junior World Series and the promotional/relegational series) featuring all 28 teams for bonus cash to line the coffers - so there's no point in pulling a Huizenga just because the season looks bleak!

Credit where credit is due - the Owners!

Anyone can say that rules make the league.  We disagree.  OWNERS make the league.  The ISBL still has many of its original owners. (23 of the 28 owners who completed the 2005 season have returned for the 2007 campaign!)

We're always striving to find the best, most dedicated owners (READ: hardcore) out there we can find.  We look for people who can take losing seasons and still focus on trying to win every game possible out of the pride of causing someone else to get just as frustrated as you are! And with our new Bundesliga-style format, we also experience schadenfreude!

So browse around.  Even when there are no openings, we'll gladly welcome you to the league and get you on our mailing lists for newsletters and other fun EMails (Fake Press Releases, etc).  We're also always looking for people who are willing to be "Substitute Managers" - filling in when an owner is on vacation, etc.
