QUICKSTEPS SNARE 2004 DIAMOND CUP

The Wilmington Quicksteps won the 2004 ISBL Diamond Cup in dramatic fashion Saturday, as Steps second baseman Adam Riggs made a diving grab of a Rafael Palmeiro liner with two out and the bases loaded in the bottom 9th to preserve a 4-3 victory over the Toronto Crown Royals in Game 3 of the Cup Final.

NOTES ON WHAT'S TO COME ...

  • If you click on 2005 FINANCES up above, you'll see what money you have remaining to deal with during the winter, as well as your forthcoming 2005 funds.
  • If you click on FINAL DISK up above, you can grab the final, complete disk of the 2004 season, as well as converted V9 disks for the 2001, 2002 & 2003 season (though not the 2003 exhibition cup).
  • I was hoping to have the Encyclopedia posted by now for the 2001 through 2004 seasons, but ran into a problem inherent in the programming that misfiled all of the boxscores. Hope to get this sorted in the next couple of days.
  • I also hope to, before the new disk comes out, have all of the appropriate coding done for the 2005 season, in terms of unlimiteds and junior-draft eligibles, as well as updated salary info.
  • Trading commences with the release of the preliminary ISBL 2005 disk, which should come within 72 hours of the release of DMB's MLB 2004 disk. No trading before that.
  • Before the disk comes out, I expect that we're going to have a vote on a few league rules tweaks, as well as for Batter/Pitcher of the Year in the respective circuits, and the general roll call to determine what owners are returning for ISBL 2005. If you have any additional ideas for rules tweaks, send 'em to STATS now so Micah, Troy and I can weigh their merits.
