BE SURE TO CHECK THE NOTES SECTION FOR GAMEPLAY SCHEDULE
As for the rest ... The St. Louis Finns regained the lead in the National League with a 5-1 week against the Albuquerque Sidewinders, as the Los Angeles Nessmen managed only a 4-3 record against the Manhattan Meat Possums to fall a half-game back. Meanwhile, the Wilmington Quicksteps continued their hot streak with a 6-1 week over the Toronto Crown Royals to keep pace in third, just 2½ back. The Beltway Bandits, thanks largely to a pair of outstanding starts by Johan Santana, put a 6-1 hurting on their D.C. brethren, the Washington Gridlock, to extend their lead in the American League to 12½ games over the Chicago Force. And the runaway leaders of the Union League, the South Carolina Cardinals, reduced their magic number to an amazing 7 with a 6-1 week over the captainless Seattle Navigators, maintaining a ridiculous 34½-game lead over their nearest league rival, the Chicago Bulldogs. As for the promotion/relegation battles ... In the NL, the Possums hold a 7-game lead over the Illinois Noise and a 9-game lead over the Pittsburgh Pythons for the fourth and final safety slot. The Royals sit 20½ back of Pittsburgh in last place and seem resigned to life in the Junior Circuit for '06. In the AL, things are a bit tighter. The Gridlock and Sidewinders are separated by a half-game for the fourth and final secure spot. The Saskatchewan Prairie Fire sit 5 games back of fourth place, but only 6 games ahead of the cellar-dwelling Halifax Explosion and automatic relegation. In the FL, the five teams still in the title hunt are also battling for the two promotional playoff spots, and the fifth-placed Pioneers sit just 4 games back of third place there. But it's in the UL where the least likely September free-for-all may take place. Despite the Cardinals making like Secretariat at the Belmont, the other six teams are separated by just 7 games, with just 4 games separating the basement-dwelling Cartersville Cyclones and New York Underdogs from the third-place Louisville Sluggers. All series are SEVEN games, scheduled 8/19-21, 8/23-26 (EXCEPT interleague, SIX games, 8/19-21, 8/23-24, 8/26). First team listed is the away team for the first three games.
Be sure to get in contact with your opponent early ("e-mail him before he can e-mail you" is always a good rule to follow) and figure out if you're going to NetPlay or MP them, then schedule accordingly.
Players who exceed 110% usage for the year will be posted here. New additions are in bold red. They have been mandatorily farmed for the year, can not be traded, and are ineligible for postseason and cup play. These players are noted in your roster with the coding ++NAME++.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE CUT YOUR ROSTER DOWN TO 25 MEN BEFORE STARTING THIS WEEK. BE CAREFUL TO KEEP PLAYERS ON DISABLED LIST FOR MINIMUM 15 DAYS. Check the DL listings below to be sure what date players are eligible to return. PLEASE NOTE: The game program allows players to be brought back before they've served 15 days. ISBL DOES NOT, so please consult the DL listings to ensure that you're bringing players back on the correct date. DON'T MAKE NON-DL-RELATED MID-SERIES ROSTER MOVES. The only moves you can make during a series are to put someone on the DL or to take them off (and an accompanying promote/farm to cover THAT player). And be sure to consult the list below to see when your player is eligible to come off the DL. STAY ON SCHEDULE!!!
If you have any additional questions about the play schedule, please direct them to stats@isbl.com.
You can track your finances, as well as your payroll ceiling, at the ISBL Finances page (see link above). Please be sure to check if you have injured players. This lists only players already placed on the DL. A (CAREFUL!) note denotes a player whose injury expires before his DL time does. Don't bring these players up until the day noted, or the Usage Nazi hammer will come down on your little head. The following are color-coded for your pleasure. Bold players are new additions. The day listed is the day they can come back and play.
I'm working on it. Baby steps, folks. |
